- Courses and faculty - course are interesting and faculty is very enthusiastic and have great knowledge and have helping nature polite

Dislikes
- Gate was entrance exam for this course.i found the application form and details in iitg website only.reservation is available but i am not eligible for that .exams are so difficult .it is so much difficult
- Hostel mess food is very bad, and very less food outlets
- The heavy workload, with assignments, projects, and exams, stress students. balancing studies with extracurriculars and personal life is be tough.

The placement scene at IIT Guwahati is really good. All the major companies come here to recruit some of the best minds in the country. Students are eligible for placements after completing 3rd year. There is even a 21% hike in no. of PPOs made to students. The highest package offered was 2.05 crore PA. The average package is around 21 lakh PA. The percentage of students getting placed is about 95%. I too am looking for a placement or govt job after getting my degree.

Lots of reputed companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, Google, De Shaw, Atlassian, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, etc... frequently visit the campus...
Average package for CSE goes around 35-40 LPA
For Chemical Engineering, It's somewhere around 21 LPA...

If I talk about internships it mainly started in the third year and various slots are conducted and many offers are made by them my seniors also get internships for over 100000 rupees. And the highest package for an internship is around 450000 rupees.

So if you are sincere enough you can get internship which pays handsome money in 3rd year also if you performed well there you can get pre placement offers. We have placement cell and intership cell here which helps students.

Students sit for placements after the seventh semester. top companies like DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Google, Microsoft, and amazon visit the campus. The highest international package was 2 crore last year and avg package of college was 25 lakh per annum. Nearly 90 percent of students of college get placed.

The students from the 7th semester for B.Tech & BDes and the 4th semester for MTech, MSc, MBA, MS, and MDes are eligible for placements. The maximum number of companies visited in the year 2021 was from the information technology and software sectors and the maximum offers were made for the computer science & engineering department students. The highest package offered in the year 2021 was 70 lakh per annum and the average package offered was 21.42 lakh per annum.

From the 4th semester, you will get a chance to sit in internship and from the 6th semester you will get a chance to sit in placement.
Nearly 300 companies visited last year for placement, like Microsoft, amazon, adobe, etc.
The average placement of the overall college is 16 lakhs, highest one was 2.04 crore.
Nearly 80% of batches get placed.
My plan after getting a degree is a startup.
