- Gate was entrance exam for this course.i found the application form and details in iitg website only.reservation is available but i am not eligible for that .exams are so difficult .it is so much difficult
- Hostel mess food is very bad, and very less food outlets
- The heavy workload, with assignments, projects, and exams, stress students. balancing studies with extracurriculars and personal life is be tough.

Don't worry about placements, they are quite good.
Our campus highest package this year is 2.5 cr/annum
There are many other stats on our official website, you can refer to that.
Mostly many people get interns in their 5th or 6th sem and get placed at the end of the 7th sem.
I will talk more about this after going the second year atleast

Placement Experience:
The highest placement this year is around 2.8 crore per annum and from my branch, it is 1.8 crore per annum. The branch does not matter in placement, you just have to work hard towards your goals, then you can get any amount.

Placement Experience:
I don't have a lot of info about the placements as I'm in the first semester only. But the biggest companies visit IITG every year. 1100+ offers were made last year and the avg package is 21.42lakhs as per last year. The highest of 2022 is 2.4cr international and 1.1cr domestic (from my hostel only). The majority of the students get placed here about 80-85% if you have a decent CPI there will be no problem in getting a good placement offer. I would like to get a good PPO in some big company. And after getting the degree I would probably work 1-2years and then go for higher education.

Generally, Campus placements take place after the 6th semester in December. But Companies come to college for internships in July after the 4th semester to select interns. And nearly 40-50% get intern offers and after that, there are few PPOs offers based on performance during the internship, and also there are few internship opportunities during second years too.
There are internship offers up to 2 lakhs during intern season and companies come for almost all major profiles in tech and non-tech(like analyst, data science, analytics etc), there are few core companies too. And for placements companies come for every profile in core too. And also there placements offers up to 1.8Cr. Reputed Companies like Google, Mckinsey, Microsoft, Rubrick also attend the placement and intern season as well. Placement percentage is on an average 80-85%. Girls get more offers than boys in placements.
I am planing for Bussiness analyst or Consulting or MBA after college from a good college.

Placement Experience:
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. The average number of students placed for all branches was about 88% in 2021 and for civil it was 80%.
The highest package was around 2 crore from uber, and the highest average package is of the CSE branch around 27 lakhs, and for civil it was around 16.
My plan is to get a job after getting a degree.

Placement Experience:
The overall placement of the college is very good. The placement begins in the 7th semester and ends before the beginning of the 8th semester. More than 85% of the students in every branch got placed in good companies. 180 companies visited campus in 2021-22 making a total of 1256 offers. Some of the big companies that visited campus are Google, Microsoft, Adobe, Dshaw, etc.
The highest placement salary paid in 2021-22 was Rs 1.2 crore (international package) whereas, the average salary was Rs 25.88 lac. The profiles offered by companies are software development, analyst, web developer, etc. My plan after getting my degree is to work in a big tech company as a software developer.

The placements are good in our college, and recently one of our seniors got 2.4 crores to offer abroad, and many students got an offer above 40lakhs domestic Package and the highest domestic Package was 1.1crore

Placements in IITG are great. IITG has the highest average package in placements among all the IITs in 2022. Students can get into internships from 2nd year of their Btech itself and they even can get PPOs (pre-placement offers) way before their 4th year of Btech. Many popular companies v like Apple, Microsoft, Oracle, Tech Mahindra, Texas Instruments, Google, etc. visit IITG for placements. The highest package in the year 2022 was 1.2cr. The average package is between 20L to 25L. Nearly 90 per cent of students got placed in different companies. In EEE highest CTC is 48LPA and the average CTC is 25LPA. I want to get placed in a good company with good CTC after my degree if I didn't go into any company then I might be going for higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:
I am very much interested in mechanical which made me choose mechanical as my career option. The student ratio at IIT Guwahati is around 1:5 .The faculty here is highly qualified and well-educated. The Ph.D. students and teacher's assistants help us clear our doubts very easily. Each term is of around 3-4 months. It is not much difficult to score well in the semesters. A daily study of around 2 hours is even enough for a good score.

Students get pre-placements offered for 5 semesters only, but the final placement occurs in the last semester only. The big companies visited are Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, apple, and many more. The total no of offers made is roughly 300. The highest package offered was 2.4 crore per annum and the overall average package was 22 lakhs per annum. Above 90% of students got placed. My plans after getting a degree do a job in the IT sector and do invest in the stock market.
