Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

NIT DURGAPUR: THE HIDDEN GEM OF EASTERN INDIA

Likes

The teaching facilities are very good and they help the students for understanding the studies and help for exams.They even help students to get the placements and internships.
The classrooms are very well maintained and very calming and relaxing.The projectors and the smart boards helps to understand the concepts with live visualization very clearly .
The placement ratio of every branch is very good and it is often near or above 10 lakhs for each branch at the least.The seniors are very helpful in this matter as they guide us regarding future planning.

Dislikes

The college rules are very strict and they often don't allow you to explore the college freely especially in first year.
Internet facility are sometimes not that good and sometimes the internet speed falls down below usable limit. It hampers the study quality especially during exams.
The campus size isn't that big and this lacks the exploration area and the buildings of the laboratories and departments are very congested.

Around the end of the 6th semester and 7th to 8th semester, students become eligible. Reputed companies like Microsoft, Samsung, PWC, Haldia Petrochemicals, Bharat Petroleum, Centuryply, HSBC, JP Morgan, TCS, etc. have come for placement. The average package is between 11-12 lakhs. Around 85% of students got placed this year.

Campus Life I liked the most because campus have so much of greenary
Security here is so good and cooperative

Dislikes

Food of mess is not good till 3 year here

In the 7th semester, students are eligible for placement. Microsoft, sail, hero, Mercedes and many more make an offer of 10 lahks to 80 lahks. highest package is 70 lakh and the average is 13-14 lakh. 80-90 percent placed from here.

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Here placements are quite good. Almost all big MNCs and good product-based companies like -Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Amazon, Wells Fargo, JPMC, Oracle, Media.Net, Mathworks, Qualcomm, etc. visit for campus hiring. Most 90-95 per cent of students from circuital branches generally get placed every year. For core branches also placement is good. This year the highest package goes to 70 lpa. and the average package is 13.62 lpa and the total percentage of placement is 84.66 percent. The average packages of CSE, ECE, and EE are 21.45 lpa, 17.49 lpa, and 14.61 lpa.

Brief review of NIT DURGAPUR

Likes

Hostel facilities are quite good , and the seniors are quite friendly
Professors are quite supportive for every individual .
Placement facility is quite good with lots of opportunities.

Dislikes

Environment is not that good as it is around industrial sites
Sports facilities are that good but kind of okish.
Mess food has a very bad condition but it depends on halls

Placement Experience:

After 6th semester students become eligible for college placements. Tata Steel, Vedanta, Microsoft, Reliance, Wipro, Infosys, Google, TCS, BPL, HPCL, and many more companies visit our college, highest package war 1cr in CS, and 20 lakhs in our branch. 85% of students get placed in our branch and 80% for an average of all branches. I have no plans right now for what to do after the degree.

The story of a NITIAN

Likes

Infrastructure is very good the classes the labs.
Teachers are well qualified and they take effort during teaching.
The placement is very good inlike other collages.

Dislikes

The gym should be renovated and the duration mist be increased.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was deeply interested in computers like how they function and how they operate due to which I chose this department (computer science). The faculty here in this institute is one of the best in India. They are highly trained and well qualified (They are Google scholars they had done their phd from very renowned institutes like the IIT and NIT)they teach us in a way that every topic feel interesting they take theory + lab classes to make sure we practice what is taught in the class. The exams are conducted twice in the semester and the exams aren't that hard to pass even if you have studied and paid attention in class you will surely score well.

Placement Experience:

From 6 semesters students are eligible for a placement in the college. About 200 companies are coming to college for placements like Microsoft, jpmc, Infosys, etc. and some students get good placements from off-campus, this year's highest placement is 80 lakhs and the average is 9 lakhs. 90 percent of students get placed in companies after getting a degree I got a job in the tech company.

Placement here is good. Average placement rate is 90%

Placement Experience:

4th year students become eligible for campus placement. Top companies visit here almost 90% average placement in the college. The highest placement was from 1cr from cse branch from Microsoft. 95% was placed in cse and 90% was placed in MME.

College's atmosphere ,the college campus are full of Greenery
College's faculty members they are really helpful
College's office staffs those are really helpful

Dislikes

Collage's transportation problem is very problematic
College's canteen services ar e not so good
College's wifi connectivity issue it is little bit problematic for hostellers

From 3rd year many companies came like Accenture, PWC, ICICI, BlackRock, ZS associates, and many more. All students are placed. The highest package is offered by Adobe at 47 lpa and the average package is by TCS, Ninja is 12 lpa. Almost 90 percent of students get placed. I would like to take placement or do an M.Tech.

Life at NIT Durgapur

Likes

It's environment, friendly people and studying
Fests like food fest, cultural fest, entrepreneurship fest
Libraries and academic blocks and canteens

Dislikes

Seniority, hostel restrictions and stress
Hostel intime restrictions and other activities
Not able to freely roam around whole campus

I wanted the core department so I opted for MME 1 by 1 faculty and students ratio Well qualified faculties It's hard to pass the exams but if you study frequently then it's not that tough, following class notes

Life at DGP

The assignments we get in class are heally helpful if you solve them.
The friends I got here have got my back everywhere anywhere. Hence , i like them alot.
I love the serene and peaceful environment of NIT durgapur. Coffee in Nescafe , roll from spice delight or maths from jhoops , be it anything and proced this ans.

Dislikes

I didnt like the stress under the Electrical Engineering departments.
i didnt like that the neabry areas from here are very costly.
i didnt like the duck pond being so dirty. The scene is nearer to you.

Placement Experience:

placement of our college is very good. It is one of the top NITs and hence, it offers a good placement result. It offers an average package of 16 lakhs. Many big companies like Microsoft, google, DE Shaw, and JP Morgan Co. come for the on-campus placement.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
