Likes

The infrastructure of the college is quite good and the location is also very good as it is inside the city you can get any item in no time.
The culture of the class and college with the students from all over country is impressive
The teaching method and hitech labs are good.

Dislikes

Field and roads required some maintaince
Canteen with good facility required in college

Placement Experience:

From 3rd year of your course you are eligible for the internship. Many companies came to college for acquiring students on the basis of merit for internship and placement. Around 80 percent of students got placement.

College life is worth it

Likes

College life is all about friends, knowledge and campus and events.
I love this college life as it has so many events and fests which creates refreshment in student boring life.

Dislikes

The campus infrastructure is not that good. It is not properly build. The buildings and classrooms here are not that good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This course has two options. Core and non core. So I chose this course as I have interest in coding. The faculties are not that good at teaching. Exams are good. But timings somewhere is short. We have to study online but course from online and offline are different. Professor need to be changed.

In this collage many big hostels in all over nits like swami vivekanand bhaban
I liked a one thing because the collage near from airport and railways station just because connectivity are fastly

Placement Experience:

I am svnit surat , my college provide campus placement from 6th semester and many companies come to the collage for the placement like amazon , tcs , sprinkle , L&T , torrent power , federal bank etc Highest placement provided by college this year 43.5 lakh and lowest is 3.4 lakh In my department percentage of placement is 78-80 but all over collage is like 40-50 percentage My plan after getting degree to build my own startup

Likes

Infrastructure of College is good and facilities too.
Campus life is enjoyable and knowledgeable
College faculty are cooperative and flexible

Dislikes

There are no gap Between consecutive exams
Because of election they keeps extra lecture on Saturday and Sunday
The mess food during weekends and mess off every alternate weakened

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are available, but they are not very good. The placement rate is around 65-70 percent. From 7 th semester we are eligible to appear for the interviews. The companies such as BPCL , JPMC , Texas etc visits the campus. The highest pakage is 36 lpa whereas average package is 12 lpa.

Likes

High attention on academics,well equipped labs
Various clubs and student chapters , throughout the year activities are conducted
Cultural and technical fest is really great

Dislikes

Hectic schedule, high no of working days as of now we are having classes on Sunday as wel
75 percentage of compulsory attendance rule
More theoritical knowledge rather than practical based learning

Placement Experience:

Placements are totally depend upon students but as we are considering branch wise then cse ece and ee have high packages.placement of civil department is not good.in my branch ee 100 percentage placement is there.

A insider's perspective

Likes

The campus feels comfortable during Summers,and greenery is sufficient.
Central canteen food is good and cheap simultaneously.
The location of the college is very good , one can easily commutate to necessary places without much hassle.

Dislikes

Sports facilities are not adequate, the grounds are not maintained.
Very poor classrooms , the projectors ar not working.

Placement Experience:

Placement are good around 90%studenets got placed in there 7th semester itself There are 80 to 90 company visiting for the campus placement. Average placement in mechanical branch in my college is around 7lpa and Max is about 16 lpa.

Likes

Svnit has a good campus and well maintained hostels better than most of the IITs.
A library that is the best attraction in the college.
Peers are best here who motivate you to give your best

Course Curriculum Overview:

Chemical Engineering is a course that covers all the three main stream of science that is maths chemistry and physics . A student who has interest in these fields can easily cope up with the course with excellence

SVNIT:A candid review

Likes

The club chapters have enough funds to give an event justice. Not like only the top 2-3 clubs are flourishing but all the clubs have brilliant events and students in those clubs are very passionate about their club.
The location of this college that is Surat and also the are which is kind of posh. All the daily requirements are available nearby. Many food outlets are present so mess food can be avoided.
There are students from all parts of India that take admission into this college. So there is a unique culture where all festivals are celebrated and your network just becomes wider and bigger.

Dislikes

The 75% percentage attendance rule is really lame. I know all colleges have it but seriously there is no need to attend college just for the sake of attendance.
There is only one canteen in this college. So if you want cheap food then you don't have many food choices.
The infrastructure is quite old and broken. Renovation works are going on causing disturbances. Also there is need for a convocation hall.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Mechanical engineering has been one of the pioneer branches of this college. The subjects are same old but they have tried to make it modern by making us do some drawing on Solidworks or by giving us liberty in labs to try whatever we want to. There are two semesters in a year. Each semester is around 5 months. There are two exams mid-sems and end-sems that are held as their name suggest. The difficulty level is on the higher side and evaluation is strict.

Likes

The location of the campus is very prime we get exposure to campus life aa well as to the city life too
The faculty of the college is very kind and ready to help you on things related to academics
The campus is lush green and cleanliness up to date

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the college do not match up the status of the college
Due to large number of clubs student get exposer but it also create burden on them
Library have no books related to culture and other thing only have subject books

The course is relevant but not totally relevante , we can not totally rely on this curriculum instead we have to update ourselves for the whats going on in the industry and learn accordingly but our course give us the basic concept of each and every thing

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.

For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.

The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.

Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.

The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.

Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
