SVNIT one shot

Likes

Academic is awesome,professors are very nice networking with industry and awesome knowledge in their field
Awesome big campus , facilities , classrooms and labs clubs and events
Timing of college sports facilities hostels facilities

Dislikes

Some labs not well conditions,some classroom also
Placement are not well for other courses expect cse
Sports grounds are not well, proper campus management

Placement Experience:

From 5/6/7 th semester students getting placement some are getting placement from the pre placement offer by their internship and 7 th sem is season of placement where is almost people are getting their placement there is 70 to 80 companies visiting for each course For. CSE and ECE highest package are 48.88 lakh Avg is 18.50 lakh For MECH,civil,chemical,electrical highest are 17.50 lakh Avg is 10.50 lakh 90% placements After getting degree is plan to take on campus placement

Likes

Library: the central Library is the best among all nits.
Academics: they take it really seriously. One may hate it now, but it for sure will benifit us in the future
Hostel: hostels a actually good and overall experience is also good

Dislikes

Restricted hours: library is not open for 24/7 , which makes it a little less useful for students
In time in hostel: the in time makes it difficult for student to go out at night
Attendance criteria: the attendance criteria is quite strict here

Placement Experience:

Placements are decent here at svnit. Not so dreamy or a nightmare. Regarding the mechanical, they are very good in terms of other nits. Mechanical here is the oldest and one of the best. If one is interested in core, he/she can consider svnit.

Social College good for carrer definition

Likes

Social life, club and students chapters available for each interest like dancing, singing, automobiles, coding etc.
Sports ground and cricket tournaments organized all year round

Dislikes

Football ground very bad, and only cricket focussed, Football tournamenta not famous

Placement Experience:

Placement are down this time I'm writing due to recession as compared to past 3 years, but average placement in mechanical is 7-8 lpa, max is 15 lpa and 60-65% students placed in mechanical branch out of total 220 students

Engineering in a nutshell

Likes

College is situated in middle of the city.
Anything we want we can order either food delivery or other.
Environment of college is good and people also.

Dislikes

Shedule of the college is very hectic...
Here only summer and rainy season exists..
75 % attendance criteria is very bad for us.

Placement Experience:

Students eligible for campus placements after 6th semester. Amazon, PayPal , Infosys, Flipkart like companies visits to campus. No. Of offers are very much.highest package of present year is 52 lakhs and average is 10 lakhs

Our college has best mechanical faculty among most of the nits and is some what true also There is proper way of attendance system and teachers experience is good Most of the teachers use PPT which is difficult to understand

Glimpses of SVNIT

Likes

Courses are very good, with over all branches placements are good
Some are very good professor present all the time for the help of students.
The college campuses life is very good almost all the facilities are there.

Dislikes

Some infrastructure for lower branches are not as good.
Some professor are not good like 1 in 5 like waise.
In some boyes hostels there is definitely improvement is required for food.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I persuade chemical engineering course in this college. It has some difficulty level. It very applicable in future aspects like in different factories and plants There are no such requirements to improvement in course but yes there is definitely required experiment application improvement. In exams there is very simple procedure like in start of semester after two months there is mis semester exam and than after 2 and half month there is end semester exam.and in between there is also wiva for practical exams and before end semester.

Svnit: a new world for budding engineers

Likes

Freedom to explore various student chapters and sports events
Labs are held regularly and various equipment are available
Various technical clubs and internship opportunities that helps us gain experience

Dislikes

Classrooms as a building was shutdown a year ago and new buildings are under construction
Water quality has caused some concerns as there was typhoid going around recently
Some building are under construction thus causing some distress

Placement Experience:

Mechanical Department placements averages upto 9.2LPA in svnit which is pretty good as far as core branches go. Various companies like Tata, MG motors, Suzuki provide placement in core branches .Highest package for mechanical branch is 20LPA

Location of SVNIT is a major win as it is situated in the best area of Surat city. All facilities are available nearby the institute.
the institute have an excellent alumni network
hostel facilities of svnit are lit. i mean they are one of the best in all the nits of india

Dislikes

institute do not upgrade its course at required pace and time
corruption. this word is enough to define the down fall of SVNIT in past 7 years. The reason why its nirf fall to 65 from 16 and it is not in top 5 nits nowdays is corruption

Placement Experience:

According to new curriculum from 8th sem stufents get internships.Even student can go for interrnships in summer breaks on their own. major companies visiting the campus are microsoft, adobe, amazon,flipkart,tata,john dheere MG,suzuki,Merecedes benz, etc highest package offered last year was 48lpa and average was around 12lpa if we talk about mecahnical engineering branch in particular highest was18.85lpa and avg was 8.5lpa. in mechanical negineering 82%% students were placed last year while for svnit it was 88%. Talking about plans after graduation is for placement and aftersome years go for higherr studies inn IITs or foreign universities.

Things you should know before taking admission in SVNIT.

Likes

First of all the basic reason of liking is it's placement states not an extraordinary but good.
There are few clubs which really improve student practical knowledge like Drishti.
Location of college is too good. You can access all the city with cheap transportation.

Dislikes

As said few clubs are good but most of the clubs is not worth your time.
There are lots corruption is going on due to which all funds goes into professor's account.
Hostel construction is the worse even few hostel gets the notice from government due to it's weak construction.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose chemical because placement states of chemical is good for this college here we get industrial knowledge by our experiments and internships. For 1 sem there are two exams one is mid and another is end-sem exam and total 8 sem are present.

Overall the college is good, it will prepare well, placement is good.

Likes

Events happen from time to time inside the college
The college campus is quite big and nice.
College seniors are very nice and helpful

Dislikes

There are many scams in the College and buildings are weak..
The college dispensary is very bad, many facility are not provided eg blood test
There is a lot of politics in college's clubs.

Placement Experience:

Students can apply for placement after coming to 4th year. Highest package is of cse and ece. The placement record of Chemistry Department and Chemical Department is bad. 60% of the students get placement in btach but only 10% of the students get placed in M.Sc.

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.

For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.

The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.

Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.

The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.

Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
